I tried my hand at a twisted easel card earlier this week. It's a simple design here, but I love how these colors, papers and stamps went together for this card. Simple and elegant.

Masculine Duck

I needed some French masculine birthday cards, so I thought I'd pair the new Moon Lake set with the new Adventure Bound DSP to get an outdoors-y, man-ly card. I few swipes of my Blendabilities for some extra color, and I love how it ended up.

A Happy Thing

I used my Blendies again on today's card. I wasn't sold on this Sale-a-bration stamp set at first, but it's grown on me as I've seen some great examples with it. I like the embossed background behind my colorful bird as well.

I used a fun new stamp set that you can earn for free when you order 60$ from Stampin' Up! over the next few months. I also used some new DSP and the new Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim for my card for this week's challenge at Nacho Average Challenge. Bright Smiley Flower - CCMC329

This week's sketch at Create with Connie & Mary was kinda odd looking to me :P I really didn't know what to do with it, but I knew that I did not want to make another Christmas card. Since it's been kinda gray and snowy here in Montreal, I decided to make something bright and cheerful with the Sweet Stuff stamp set. I figured a bunch of gold sequins would work well with this card, and this is what I ended up with. Not sure if I like it, but I give up trying to change it :)

Birthday Greetings - NAC115

Hey look, not a Christmas card for a change! I was starting to get a bit tired of Christmas cards, so I figured I'd make a birthday card for this week's sketch challenge at Nacho Average Challenges. I let the DSP take over the show for this card. It's nice and splashy, without being too overwhelming, which I like a lot. I love this color combination, I'm not sure if I'd have thought to do it myself.

Hardwood and Blooms - PPA225

As soon as I saw the sketch from Pals Paper Arts, I had an idea of what I wanted to do. It's always nice when what you see in your mind works out when you actually put it on paper too! :) Surprisingly the hardest part of this card was getting all the angles cut right.

 

As I've mentioned before, I'm really enjoying coloring much more than I ever expected when Stampin' Up! first released the Blendabilities markers. They are so much fun and I find it very relaxing to color with them.

Button Leaves - AW26

Not sure if it's because I spent a lot of the day outside in the pretty fall leaves today, but when I went to make my card for the current Around the World Stampin' Up! Challenges, my eyes went to the tree stamp in the Nuts about You set, and I instantly thought of the buttons that could make it a pretty fall tree. I also need to make some masculine French birthday cards, so I tried to keep it pretty simple and not girly :)

Orange Kitty - NAC108 & FMS155

It's rare for me to emboss directly on the card base when I'm making a card, but for some reason I decided to in this sketch to keep it simple. I combined the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches with the color challenge from Nacho Average Challenge. I decided to use the orange to stamp an orange kitty, so the rest of the card fell into place around that.

Sweet Little Ballerina Birthday Card - TSSC333

I realized recently that I don't make very many cards for little girls, so for this week's sketch challenge at Techno Stamper, I decided to make something super bright and girly. The cute little ballerina from the set Sweet Stuff paired nicely with the Sweet Taffy DSP to make this super sweet card. It's so pink and sweet it makes my teeth hurt :P

I made today's card based on the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I just made it horizontal instead of vertical, but otherwise it's the same sketch. I wanted to keep it a bit muted, so I used a bunch of greys and blues with just a couple pops of yellow.

Every so often I like to make a random abstract background for a card. I thought the colors for this week's challenge at Create with Connie and Mary would make a nice one. I loved how it turned out so much that I didn't want to cover it up too much, so I added just a bit of baker's twine and a little sentiment to finish it off.

Rustic Birthday Flourish - TSSC331

When I first saw this sketch from Techno Stamper this week, I had no idea what I wanted to do. I decided to pull out my dictionary background stamp that I haven't used yet, and the burlap ribbon. Every time I use burlap my card takes on a rustic feel, and today's card is no exception. I really love how it turned out with the sponging and muted colors.
