Friend to Friend - CCMC330

Tangelo Twist is possibly one of my least used colors. I'm not an orange person in general, so I always end up choosing other colours. Even in this color challenge from Create with Connie and Mary, I added some touches of it as more of an afterthought to give it some extra punch. I pulled out my Vivid Vases set that I haven't used in awhile and colored it with the challenge colors. The background stripes are mimicked on the center vase.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Vivid Vases, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink: Stazon Black; Blackberry Bliss

Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Oval Framelits, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Banner Punch, Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder, Stampin' Write Markers, Dimensionals, Rhinestones

Rustic Birthday Flourish - TSSC331

When I first saw this sketch from Techno Stamper this week, I had no idea what I wanted to do. I decided to pull out my dictionary background stamp that I haven't used yet, and the burlap ribbon. Every time I use burlap my card takes on a rustic feel, and today's card is no exception. I really love how it turned out with the sponging and muted colors.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up)

Stamps: Dictionary, Flowering Flourishes, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar, Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper: Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Envelope Punch Board, Burlap ribbon, Sponge Daubers, Dimensionals, Pearls

Falling Leaves - PPA219

Well, the colors for this week's challenge at Pals Paper Arts definitely screamed fall to me. I'm really not a fall/thanksgiving/Halloween card maker, so I really don't have many stamps for that genre. I do have this retired maple leaf stamp, so I decided to pull it out and make a super simple thanksgiving card. These colors are not something I use often either, in fact my Always Artichoke ink was still in the wrapper, and I can't remember the last time I used Cajun Craze! They are nice and rich looking however, so I'll have to remember to try to use them more often.

Anniversary Flourishes - PPA218

Today I made a card for the color challenge this week at Pals Paper Arts. I love love love purple and yellow together, so I was happy to see this combination. I rarely make anniversary cards, and am always asked at fairs if I have any, so I'm trying to get a few of the often asked for cards made before the holiday rush.

Happy Graduation! - TSSC319

Today's card is a special one, my stepson is graduating from elementary school this week. High school starts in the fall, yikes! I based it on the sketch challenge from Techno Stamper. I love the new stars framelits, it was easy to make the layers stars for this card. It's a bit hard to see, but I coloured the rhinestones yellow and green as well.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Memorable Moments, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Be the Star

Ink: Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow

Paper: Mossy Meadow, Sahara Sand, Whisper White card stock; Moonlight DSP stack

Misc: Star framelits, Arrows embossing folder, dimensionals, rhinestones

Lovely as a Tree Father's Day

So today's card is kinda late, but here it is! This week has not been good for creating and blogging :(

I saw Amy K's Woodgrain frame the other day, and have wanted to do something similar ever since, so I decided the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday would be a great place to try it. The twist for the sketch was to make a masculine card, so I made a father's day card.

Recipe

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Hardwood, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink: Soft Suede

Paper: Soft Suede, Pear Pizzaz, Naturals White card stock

Misc: Neutrals Candy Dots, Natural 5/8" Chevron Ribbon

Luck of the Irish! PPA191

As soon as I saw the colours for this week's color challenge at Pals Paper Arts, I immediately thought of St. Patrick's Day! (Well, maybe not the orange so much, but anyway...) I also wanted to do something different than a card for a change, and I had a Facebook group challenge to use the Envelope Punch Board on a project, and so this basket was born!

I filled it with chocolate gold coins, for some lucky leprechauns :)

The shamrock is made with the smallest heart in the heart framelits collection, and the green zig zag DSP is from the Watercolor Wonder set.

The sentiment comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set, and I finished it off with some Gumball Green ribbon and the Paper Doilies.
