Monochromatic Butterfly - SSC80 & PP205

I can't remember the last time I made a card that didn't have any white in it, but here it is. I used the sketch challenge from Sunday Stamps and the challenge of "Clean, Simple & Monochromatic" From The Paper Players for today's card. It's a bit hard to tell, but the butterfly is embossed in Pool Party, and the Candy Dots and lighter frame are all Pool Party as well.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Swallowtail, Papillon Potpourri (inside)

Ink: Versamark, Island Indigo (inside)

Paper: Island Indigo, Pool Party card stock

Misc: Pool Party Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Pool Party Candy Dots

Coral Butterflies - CCMC300

Here's a card I made for the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. I'm so happy both the Swallowtail and the Papillon Potpourri sets weren't retired, since they are two of my favourites.

I wasn't sure what to do with this color challenge, they aren't exactly colors I use often or that I would've put together, but I do like the end result.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Swallowtail, Papillon Potpourri

Ink: Calypso Coral

Paper: Basic Grey, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla card stock

Misc: Butterfly punch, Epic Day This And That Designer Washi Tape, Natural 5/8" Chevron Ribbon, rhinestones, dimensionals

Butterflies!! PPA193

I knew I wanted to use the little butterflies for the circles in this sketch from Pals Paper Arts, but I wasn't sure on the background. Then I spied my giant butterfly stamp and thought it'd be a great combination.

I love the Hardwood background stamp. It gives a nice rustic, country look.

Recipe:

Stamps: Hardwood, Swallowtail, Papillon Potpourri

Ink: Bermuda Bay, Sahara Sand

PaperBermuda Bay, Sahara Sand, Whisper White card stock

Misc: 1" circle punch, 1 1/4" scallop circle punch, small butterfly punch, pearls, white ribbon

Sweet Swallowtail - SSSC204

When I was looking around for a stamp to use for this card, I was thinking of a totally different set. Then I spotted the Swallowtail and thought GOLD!!

I made it following this week's sketch challenge at Sweet Sunday.

The butterfly is heat embossed in gold, and I double layered the washi so it would show up enough. For the two embellishments underneath, I put a pearl on top of the gold sequin. It reminds me of earrings. :)

Recipe:

Stamps: Swallowtail

Ink: Versamark

Paper: Kaleidoscope DSP, Whisper White, Bermuda Bay card stock, Gold Foil sheets

Misc: gold embossing powder, gold sequin trim, pearls, Watercolor wonder washi tape
