Lotus Blossom - PPA223

This 3-step Lotus Blossom stamp set in the upcoming Sale-a-bration catalog is one of my favorite new stamps. It went on my first pre-order right away so I could get a chance to play with it. I thought it would somewhat match the sketch for Pals Paper Arts, which I turned 90 degrees to match my sketch. There's a lot of white space in this card, so I added a tiny bit of bling to fill it in.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Lotus Blossom (SAB)

Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi

Paper: Wild Wasabi, Perfect Plum, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Painted Blooms Cotton Twine in Wild Wasabi*

Thank You Dahlia - PPA228

My card today is based on the sketch challenge from Pals Paper Arts. I decided to pull out a stamp set I haven't used in awhile and make it my focal point for this card. I love purple, pink and black together, so that's what I went with for my card.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Regarding Dahlias, Gorgeous Grunge

Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White card stock; 2013-2015 In Color DSP (Strawberry Slush)

Grateful for You - FabFri54

Even though Thanksgiving is past here in Canada, I figured I'd use the colors for the challenge at Fab Friday this week for one last fall/thanks style card. My gold sequins were still sitting on my desk, so they ended up in today's card as well. They give a nice sparkle to the card without having to resort to the dreaded glitter :P

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Merry Everything

Ink: Cajun Craze

Paper: Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Whisper White card stock; Moonlight DSP stack

Misc: Gold Sequin Trim, Tag Topper Scalloped Punch, Note Tag Punch, Dimensionals, Woodgrain Embossing Folder

Wetlands CAS - PP222

Clean and simple thank you card... That's the theme for this week's challenge at the paper players. I already had the Wetlands stamp sitting on my desk from another card I made earlier in the week, so I figured I might as well use that. I tried to keep the colors neutral and natural. It's definitely a simple card...

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Wetlands

Ink: Early Espresso, Old Olive

Paper: Early Espresso, Old Olive, Sahara Sand card stock

Misc: Linen Thread, Pearls, Dimensionals

Flowers & Vines - PP217

My card today is for the color challenge at the paper players this week. They are pretty fall colors, but I'm already getting tired of the fall themed cards, and surprisingly in Montreal this week it's been super warm and feels almost like summer. I ended up making flowers with the colors, and I like how this simple card turned out. I used the cupcake builder punch to make the centers for the little flowers.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Bordering Blooms, Petite Pairs

Ink: Mossy Meadow

Paper: Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Cupcake Builder Punch, Glue Dots, White Glue

Pink Climbing Flowers - NAC109

This week's sketch challenge from Nacho Average Challenge automatically made me think of lines of thread. So, I wrapped a bunch of linen thread around a piece of cardstock, and then decided to add some little flowers to climb along it, which reminds me of a trellis in the garden.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Wetlands

Ink: Soft Suede

Paper: Soft Suede, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzaz

Misc: Linen Thread, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Pearls, Glue Dots

Filigree Thank You - AW25

My card won the top 3 reader's choice and design team choice for the last Around the World Stampin' Up! Challenge! Thanks so much!

I've been feeling a bit tired this week, I think a combination of work and the seasons changing has made me feel a bit blah. Unfortunately, my stamping mojo seems to have taken a bit of a hit too. I'm not sure if it's just because this week's challenge at Around the World Stampin' Up! Challenges was so open (create a Thank You card), or what, but it literally took me an hour to come up with this super simple card. I played with all kinds of papers and stamps before settling on this. I do like this new embossing folder that came out in the new holiday catalog, and it makes a great border for all kinds of cards, so I'm sure I'll be using it lots more!

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Kinda Eclectic, Salut toi

Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry

Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Filigree Frame Embossing Folder, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Rhinestones, Dimensionals

I Can't Thank You Enough - SSC84

I was very honored to be asked to be a guest designer for September for the Sunday Stamps challenges. Thanks so much! For anyone visiting my blog from the Sunday Stamps site, welcome!

When I received the sketch, I had a really hard time deciding what to do with it. For some reason, all I could see was a cape, lol. Finally, after several tries, some inspiration came to me, and this is what I ended up with. I find it to be somewhat vintage/country looking, and somewhat girly. I used a bunch of different gold/brown based ribbons for the bow, and love how it turned out.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Chalk Talk

Ink: Mossy Meadow and Strawberry Slush Stampin' Write Markers, Baked Brown Sugar (sponged edges)

Paper: Blushing Bride, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White card stock; All Abloom DSP Stack

Misc: Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Sponge Daubers, Burlap Ribbon, Gold 1/8" Ribbon, Gold Baker's Twine, Linen Thread, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Splashy Thank You

Here's a card I made recently for a color challenge on a Facebook group. The giant thank you stamp takes center stage on this card, and the background is stamped with the Work of Art brush stroke stamps. A few candy dots tie this card together. It's a super easy and quick card to make.

Stamps: Another Thank You, Work of Art

Ink: Strawberry Slush, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry

PaperBermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Bermuda Bay candy dots

Thank You with a Bloom - PPA211

I love these little spots stamp in the Hello Darling set (I actually bought this set solely for this stamp, lol). I used the color challenge at Pals Paper Arts for the inspiration for this card. I love how the yellow and white pop against the navy.

The center of the flower is colored with the darkest Daffodil Delight Blendabilities marker, and the petals with the lighter two.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Hello Darling, Salut toi, Bloom With Hope

Ink: Night of Navy, Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper: Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Whisper White card stock

Misc: White embossing powder, Daffodil Delight Blendabilities markers, Regals Candy Dots, Deco Labels framelits, Decorative Dots embossing folder

Masculine Thank You - CCMC310

Today I made a card for the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. These aren't colors I usually use, but I like how this ends up being a more masculine card. I hadn't inked up this new hostess set yet, but now that I have, I like it. The star punch in the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack is one of my favourites lately. It's easy to add pops of color whenever I need it.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Let Your Hair Down

Ink: Night of Navy

Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Real Red card stock; 2013-2015 In Color DSP

Misc: Itty Bitty Accents punch pack (star), Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Watercolor Thank You Sketch

I made today's card for the sketch challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. I love this color combination of Blackberry Bliss and Crisp Cantaloupe. I made the background by using one of the stamps from Work of Art in Crisp Cantaloupe, which I stamped off first each time so the colour was lighter. Then I randomly stamped the flower from Bloom With Hope overtop in Blackberry Bliss. I changed the little banners in the sketch to come out of the oval instead of the top.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!):

Stamps: Watercolor Thank You, Bloom With Hope, Work of Art

Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Crisp Cantaloupe

Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White card stock; Moonlight DSP stack

Misc: Oval framelits, Blackberry Bliss Satin Stitched ribbon, sponge daubers, dimensionals, rhinestones

Stampin' Up! Teacher Thank You Card - NAC93

It's that time of year again! School is just about done so I needed to make some teacher thank you cards. The sketch challenge from Nacho Average Challenges worked great and left me with a fun card! Now I just need to make 5 more! At least my prototype is done :)

I think the only reason I keep the old Tart and Tangy set around is for the apple that I use for teacher cards. Oh well, everything else in this card is currently available for purchase from Stampin' Up!

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!):

Stamps: Tart and Tangy (retired), Hey You

Ink: Baked Brown Sugar, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler

Paper: So Saffron, Garden Green, Backed Brown Sugar, Whisper White card stock

Misc: 1 1/4" circle punch, Alphabet Press embossing folder, Cherry Cobbler chevron ribbon, sponge daubers, dimensionals

Star Filled Thank You

Today's card is one we'll be doing as one of the make and take projects at my catalog launch and 2 for 1 party next Saturday. If you're in the Montreal area and are interested, get in touch with me!

The star background is made using the new background mask, which I filled using a sponge dauber and Hello Honey ink. The sentiment is the new Watercolor Thank You single stamp in Blackberry Bliss. I finished it off with a Basic Gray border and some bling.

Another Thank You - NAC85

I'm posting tomorrow's card a bit early, since I just realized the challenge ends in a couple hours. I'll have another post in the morning with some awesome news from Stampin' Up!

I love the simplicity of this sketch from Nacho Average Challenges, and I knew I wanted to use washi to do the stripes on it as soon as I saw it. I changed up the sketch a bit and moved the sentiment down, but this is such an easy card to make and looks awesome.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Another Thank You, Mixed Bunch, Flower Shop, Petite Petals

Ink: Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight

Paper: Soft Suede, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Gingham Garden Washi, Watercolor Wonder washi, 3 flower punches, pearl embellishment, dimensionals

Golden Thank You - TSSC308

Today's card is one I've had in my head for a few days, but just haven't had time to put ink (and glue!) to paper.

It's for the sketch challenge at Techno Stamper. I like the gold and white combination, I guess the stars in the sketch made me think of using gold. I've never used washi tape as much as I use the Watercolor Wonder washi. Love it!

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Another Thank You

Ink: Versamark

Paper: Whisper White card stock, Gold foil paper

Misc: Gold embossing powder, gold sequins, gold bakers twine, Watercolor Wonder washi tape, dimensionals, Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, Very Vintage Designer Buttons
