Golden Valentine - AW32

I wanted to share some more new products from the new 2015 Occasions catalog that is AVAILABLE TODAY!!! The washi tape and DSP on this card for the sketch challenge at Around the World Stampin' Up! Challenges are from the Stacked With Love series. The gold thread behind the heart is a piece I pulled out from a length of gold baker's twine. The sentiment is from the now retired Good Greetings set. I double layered the washi so it would be darker against the DSP.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Good Greetings

Ink: Stazon Jet Black

Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White card stock; Stacked with Love DSP stack; Gold Glimmer Paper

Misc: Stacked with Love Washi Tape, Gold Basic Metal Buttons, Gold Baker's Twine, Sweetheart Punch, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

This is a combined color challenge from Merry Monday and sketch challenge from Nacho Average Challenges. Lots of sparkle and glitter here (I can handle glitter on Glimmer Paper, lol). There's a bit of snow falling here in Montreal, so hopefully that puts people in the Christmas mood for my craft show this weekend!

Rustic Cardinal - MM133

This card is so simple, and yet anything I tried to add to it didn't look right, so I decided to keep it simple and leave it alone. The challenge this week at Merry Monday is to create a rustic Christmas card using browns, tans and creams. I sponged all the edges to give it a worn, rustic look. Super easy, but I like the end result. This'll be a great card to mass produce.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Beauty of the Season, Good Greetings
Ink: Baked Brown Sugar

Paper: Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla

Misc: Sponge Dauber

Ho! Ho! Ho! - NAC113

Happy Halloween! I thought I'd share a Christmas card for the occasion ;)

My card today is for the sketch challenge at Nacho Average Challenges. I love how all the details are in the little tag and then the designer series paper takes care of the rest of the card. I colored in the images with my Blendabilities markers. Even though I wasn't blending them, they still are great for coloring in any image without streaks.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Get Your Santa On, Good Greetings
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White card stock; Trim the Tree DSP stack

Misc: Various Blendabilities, Pearls, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Cherry Cobbler 1" Sheer Ribbon, Silver Baker's Twine, Dimensionals

Black Cat Gift Box Punch Board Treat Holder

Here's a funny little treat holder I made for Halloween of a black cat using the new Gift Box Punch Board.

The punch board makes it so easy to make little gift boxes in a variety of sizes. I dressed mine up to look like a cat, but just plain with a ribbon is going to make some wonderful Christmas gift packaging.

To make his little nose, I punched out a heart and covered it with Crystal Effects.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Good Greetings

Ink: Silver Encore

Paper: Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Pear Pizzaz card stock

Misc: Gift Box Punch Board, Linen Thread, Glue Dots, Crystal Effects, Modern Label Punch, Triangle Punch, Itty Bitty Punch Pack (heart)

Starry Starry Night - TSSC337 & MM131

Two months until Christmas!! Today I made a Christmas card using non-traditional Christmas colors for the Merry Monday Challenge. I used the sketch challenge from Techno Stamper for the design. There are lots and lots of stars in this card, from the embossing folder to the stamping to the cut outs. I used my Big Shot a lot for this card compared to most of my cards, for all the different framelit cutting and embossing.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Good Greetings, White Christmas

Ink: Perfect Plum

Paper: Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette card stock; Silver Glimmer Paper

Misc: Circle Framelits, Star Framelits, Lucky Stars Embossing Folder, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Silver Baker's Twine, Rhinestone, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Sponge Dauber, Itty Bitty Punch Pack (small star)

Give Thanks

Earlier this week a Facebook group I'm on had the challenge to make a fall themed card using only Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler and Chocolate Chip. No white or other neutrals! It was definitely a bit of a challenge, but in the end this is what I ended up with.

Stamps: Kinda Eclectic, Good Greetings

Ink: Cherry Cobbler

Paper: Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler and Chocolate Chip card stock

Christmas Gift Card Holder

Today, I wanted to share the bonus project we made at my card class this weekend. This gift card holder is based off a template that my friend Karine has shared on her blog before, and I thought that the new Festival of Trees set would work well on a gift card holder. Everyone loved this simple project, and I'm sure they will all be making more for the holiday season.

I cut the Crumb Cake base at 4 1/4" x 6 1/4", and scored it on the long side at 2 1/4" and 4 3/4". I used Sticky Strip to attach the 2 short sides. Then I cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock at 2" x 4 1/4" for the front, and a piece of Trim the Tree DSP at 1 3/4" x 4 1/4". Inside, there is another strip of DSP at 3/4" x 4 1/4". I finished off the front with the sentiment from the new hostess set Good Greetings stamped in Garden Green and a tree from the Festival of Trees set punched with the new Tree punch. I used a couple dimensionals to lift it up a bit. Inside I stamped the To: / From: stamp that also comes with the Festival of Trees set.

Here are the other projects we created at my weekend class. If you are in the Montreal area, and are interested in attending one of my upcoming classes, get in touch with me!

Shiny Silver Washi Card

OMG is it ever hard to take a picture of a card with a silver foil front. I kept getting reflections in it. This is the best I managed to capture. Anyway, the whole front is shiny silver for this card for the sketch challenge this week at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. The sentiment is embossed in white on the silver foil. I wasn't sure how that would turn out, but it worked pretty good! It looked empty when I was done, and I had a red glimmer paper star from another project hanging around on my desk, so I added that on for some extra sparkle.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Good Greetings

Ink: Versamark

Paper: Lost Lagoon, Whisper White card stock; Silver Foil Paper; Red Glimmer Paper

Misc: All Is Calm Washi, Star Framelits, White Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Dimensionals

Merry & Bright - TSSC328 & MM122

I decided to combine the sketch challenge from Techno Stamper and the color challenge from Merry Monday for this card. I have a hard time using gold and silver together, but I pulled out some different things and this is what I ended up with. I love the new greeting set Good Greetings, which anyone can earn for free if they host a workshop of over 325$ beginning August 28 (when the new Holiday catalog also launches!)

Peace & Joy - CCMC315

And it's another Christmas card! What can I say, I'm having fun playing with some of the new stuff. Actually, the only new thing on this card for this week's sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary is the DSP, and the sentiment stamp. I flipped the sketch on it's side, and love the look of it.

Housewarming Card - NAC101

Today's card is for the sketch challenge at Nacho Average Challenges. It's using some new sneak peek items from the upcoming Holiday catalog, but I wanted to make a house warming card rather than a Christmas card. Unfortunately, I took the stamp out that says Happy New Home, and then got distracted for a few minutes and went upstairs, and now that stamp is nowhere to be found! Those photopolymer stamps are sticky! By now it's probably stuck to a cat or something, hopefully it'll turn up tomorrow. Anyway, since the rest was done, I grabbed the celebrate stamp from the upcoming Good Greetings set instead. It still works I guess.

Corner Garden - PP207

I got this awesome flower stamp today, and decided to try a technique that was shown in the catalog that I've been meaning to do for awhile. I stamped the flowers with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. Once it was heat set, I colored in some of the flowers with my Stampin' Chalk Marker. I then added a few buttons to some flowers, and decided I could submit it for this week's "cute as a button" challenge at the Paper Players.

Hello Love

I used another new set for today's card that I made for this week's sketch challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday. The greeting comes from a brand new set full of awesome greetings called Good Greetings. It's not actually available yet, but you're going to hear more about it soon!

The background is stamped with the new background stamp I Love Lace. I love the sweet pattern it makes.

I made the scalloped line in the sketch a bit differently by using the little flowers instead. I think it still comes across like in the sketch :)

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Good Greetings, I Love Lace, Petite Petals

Ink: Sahara Sand, Lost Lagoon

Paper: Lost Lagoon, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Gold baker's twine, Petite Petals punch, Decorative Label punch, Large Oval punch, Gold Sequins, Pearls, dimensionals, Multi-purpose glue
