70th Birthday Card - NAC84

My great aunt's 70th birthday is next week, so I made this card for her using the sketch challenge from Always Playing With Paper and the color challenge at Nacho Average Challenges.

Another Great Gorgeous Grunge Year - CCMC292

I've got to say, Summer Starfruit is starting to grow on me since its in the free Sale-a-bration paper, which I've been using a lot. When I saw the color combo for this challenge at Create With Connie and Mary, the obvious solution was to use the Sweet Sorbet DSP. But then, just as I was falling asleep last night an idea hit me, so I headed back downstairs to my craft room to make it.

It's simple, but still quite cheerful. I think it'd even work as a guy card. I'm even tempted now to try it in a bunch of different colour combinations since its such an easy card.

Lots of Spots Birthday Card - SSSC206 & FabFri34

I didn't think I liked this paper at all in the Fresh Prints DSP paper stack. In fact, this card started with a totally different background. But then I tried it with this one and was sold!

It's based on the sketch from this week at Sweet Sunday:

It also meets the criteria for the Fab Friday color challenge:

The red flower centers are punched from red glimmer paper with the circles in the cupcake builder punch.

I love these spring colours from the Spring Color Challenge over at Create With Connie and Mary. It's starting to warm up here in Montreal, but not quite spring yet!

I also used this week's sketch challenge at Sweet Sunday as inspiration for this card. I love the layout, nice and simple.

Color Challenge PPA186

Today's card is for this week's color challenge over at Pals Paper Arts.

The colors to use were Island Indigo, Gold and Whisper White.

The birthday greeting is one I used earlier this week, from the Another Great Year set. I embossed it in gold.

The background uses the new Watercolor Wonder Washi tape. I like the look it gives the card here.

I rounded all the corners using my envelope punch board, and popped up the sentiment using some dimensionals.

Color Challenge - CCMC284

Today's card is for this week's challenge over at Create With Connie and Mary. The challenge was to make a card using Bermuda Bay, Strawberry Slush and Basic Black. I used the new stamp sets Petite Petals and Another Great Year, as well as Gorgeous Grunge for the background.

I embossed the flowers with white embossing powder and sponged them in Bermuda Bay and Strawberry Slush ink. I finished them off with some bling. 

Another Great Year!

How convenient is it that I use the new stamp set called Another Great Year on the card to show on the last day of the year? :)

It's been an awesome year, and I'm happy to have gotten back into stamping and Stampin' Up! after a few years break where life was just too busy. I've met some great people this year thanks to card making, which I'm really happy about!

It's almost a friend's birthday, and I needed to make a card (of course!). I saw this card on Pinterest yesterday and loved it right away so of course I wanted to CASE it! 

 

Here's what I made:

I love love love the new Watercolor Wonder Washi tape. I always thought I was a silver girl (or white gold!) ;) but I'm loving the new gold colours coming out! 

I also put some washi on the inside to spruce it up a bit:

Misc: Versamark, gold embossing powder, Watercolor Wonder washi tape, gold sequin trim, glue dots

That's it! A super simple card that looks elegant and fun at the same time!
