The kids are super excited about the new  Lego movie that is coming out, so we postponed J's birthday party a couple weeks so they can go to the movie.

Here's the prototype of the invitation I made, I'll be making more on the weekend.

Chocolate Valentine Card

I found these heart chocolates that aren't your typical red or pink, so I picked them up to incorporate into a card. I wanted to make something different, and not a standard lovey-dovey card, but one you could give anyone.

The chocolates make it kind of heavy and hard to stand up, but I'm sure my recipient won't mind ;)

Blue and Green Should Never Be Seen...

It's always fun to create, especially when you're using FREE STUFF!! Almost everything in this card (stamps, DSP, twine, cork flower, embossing folder) was FREE as a sale-a-bration item. You can get these for free too for every 60$ you spend!!

I love blue and green together, even though it used to be some faux pas... :)

Sweet Swallowtail - SSSC204

When I was looking around for a stamp to use for this card, I was thinking of a totally different set. Then I spotted the Swallowtail and thought GOLD!!

I made it following this week's sketch challenge at Sweet Sunday.

The butterfly is heat embossed in gold, and I double layered the washi so it would show up enough. For the two embellishments underneath, I put a pearl on top of the gold sequin. It reminds me of earrings. :)

Masculine Birthday Card - PPA189

Today marks one month since I got around to starting this blog! I've managed to post a new project every day, and have gotten many more hits than I was expecting! Thanks everyone!

This card was inspired by the weekly sketch at Pals Paper Arts. I think Wetlands is one of my favorite stamp sets, and makes a great guy card.

 

It's a very easy card to reproduce, but there are many layers!

A Bright & Fun Thank You (FMS120)

Today's card was for 2 different challenges. First, the sketch was from this week's challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. Second, it was for a Facebook group colour challenge to use Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Basic Gray.

 

I love the colours because they feel nice and springy, even though its still freezing cold, windy and grey here in Montreal.

Just Another Love Card - CCMC287

I wanted to use some of the Valentine sets for this card. The sketch I was using from Create with Connie and Mary this week was very pretty and simple, so I tried to stay close to it.

I'm not used to leaving the background un-embossed or inked or something, but I like it anyway :) I punched out a small heart in the oval to give the white oval a little something extra because it was looking a bit plain when I first did it... I added a small Vintage Faceted button (which are on sale this week!) to finish off the heart.

The Love sentiment is from the Follow My Heart set, and I used Versamark to ink up just the part I wanted and then embossed it with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder. I added a strip of the DSP inside to finish it off.

Rev Up The Fun Birthday Card!

I wanted to do something different for this week's challenge over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday (#152).

I thought the design lent itself well to a Z-fold card, so I pulled out a few sets I've barely used and made a guy birthday card. I actually woke up yesterday thinking of how to make this card, lol.

A Facebook group had a challenge to make a birthday card using Chocolate Chip, Pistachio Pudding and one other colour, so that's how I ended up with these colours.

You're So Very Giving... (TSSC298)

Another sketch challenge card here! This one is for this week's challenge at Techno Stamper. Go give it a try!

I like this one because the colors are bright and cheerful. It's nice and springy when it's still so cold and gray here in Montreal.

I colored the stamped image with a blender pen and some ink from my stamp pads, and added some bling to the center of some flowers.

I finished off the card with another strip of DSP on the inside.
