Just Another Love Card - CCMC287

I wanted to use some of the Valentine sets for this card. The sketch I was using from Create with Connie and Mary this week was very pretty and simple, so I tried to stay close to it.

I'm not used to leaving the background un-embossed or inked or something, but I like it anyway :) I punched out a small heart in the oval to give the white oval a little something extra because it was looking a bit plain when I first did it... I added a small Vintage Faceted button (which are on sale this week!) to finish off the heart.

The Love sentiment is from the Follow My Heart set, and I used Versamark to ink up just the part I wanted and then embossed it with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder. I added a strip of the DSP inside to finish it off.

Recipe:

Stamps: Follow My Heart, Language of Love

Ink: Real Red, Crumb Cake

Paper: Fresh Prints DSP, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White card stock, Red Glimmer paper

Misc: Small Heart punch, Heart punch, Oval framelits, Rhinestones, Vintage Faceted Buttons, Linen Thread, sponge dauber

Spring Fever

Yesterday I spent some time playing around with an old sketch challenge to make a card to share with you. It's starting to feel like spring here in Montreal, even though its only January and way too early for that! Mother Nature loves to trick us... I love the spring colors and feel of this card.

The combination of the heart stamp from the new Language of Love set and this butterfly from Papillon Potpourri look great together.

Recipe:

Stamps: Language of Love, Follow My Heart, Papillon Potpourri

Ink: Smoky Slate, Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe

Paper: Sweet Sorbet DSP, Smoky Slate, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Chalk Talk Framelits, Arrows embossing folder, sponge daubers, rhinestones, chevron ribbon

Language of Love

I sat down to play with some more of my new stamps the other day, and wanted to make a Valentine's Day card. Here's the card I came up with.

It's using some items from the new 2014 Occasions catalog that you'll be able to order from in just a few days! The hearts are stamped with a new stamp from the Language of Love set in Real Red, Melon Mambo and Blushing Bride, and are punched with the Full Heart punch. I used my Paper Piercing tool and Template to poke the holes around the hearts. The background is embossed with the new Scalloped Textured Impressions embossing folder. The little hearts are punched in silver and red glimmer paper with the small heart punch. I finished off the card with the 1/8" silver ribbon and some silver rhinestones.
