Framed Yellow Bird - CCMC312

OK, so I'm no bird expert, and I assume there's no bird that really looks like this, but I wanted to use the new Beauty of the Season today, but didn't want to make a Christmas card just yet since the weather here in Montreal is the perfect summer weather. Instead, I decided to try to use it for this week's color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary, and this is what I came up with...

I used a blender pen to color the bird in Hello Honey, and then my Hello Honey Stampin' Write marker to color the beak and legs a bit darker.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Beauty of the Season

Ink: Black Versamark, Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Sahara Sand

Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White card stock; Moonlight DSP stack

Misc: Blender Pen, Labels Collection framelits, Sahara Sand Candy Dots (neutrals), Hello Honey Stampin' Write Marker, Blackberry Bliss ribbon

  1. The best part of being an artist is that you can make the bird any color you want! Good for you for trying something different! I don't do that enough! What an inspiration and a lovely card! Thanks for playing the challenge at Create with Connie and Mary!

  2. I really like how you changed the color of the bird so it resembles a finch instead of a cardinal...great idea! I like your choice of DSP under the pretty framed bird. Thanks for playing the Create with Connie and Mary color challenge this week!
